About Tech CC
Scope
Tech Creative Commons is an editorial project by Creative Commons Papers, an international association based in Brussels dedicated to research and scientific dissemination in the field of applied science & technology.
TCC is a space open to new technological and scientific research, a “open way” to the proposals of any researcher who is able to propose new solutions and innovative research.
Our approach is based on unconditional support for worthy ideas. Our Board examines dozens of proposals every week. We are a no-profit organization. If a job seems interesting to us, we immediately send it to the best reviewers who share our mission with us. In a few weeks it will be published.
Researchers are invited to publish and release their work under Creative Commons License. Because scientific progress is the progress of the whole human community and cannot get confused with profit. But research must be supported and when a study receives interest, we monetize that interest through our publications to support researchers.
Why should you publish in TCC?
-
-
- High standards: Articles are rigorously peer reviewed by our global network of expert referees, supported by our top-level editorial board.
- Fast publication: We are committed to providing you with a fast, professional service to ensure rapid first decision, acceptance and publication times. Once accepted, your article will be accessible to readers within 24 hours and will include a citable DOI.
- Open Access: we offers authors the option to publish fully Open Access.
- Transfer opportunities: As well as accepting direct submissions, the journal also offers you a quick and easy solution to transfer your manuscript from another Publishing journal if it does not fit that journal’s scope or significance criteria. Articles are transferred along with peer review reports to save time and avoid duplication of work for referees.
- Society owned: Any profits generated by TCC Publishing are invested to support research, education and outreach around the world.
-
Article types
TCC welcomes submissions of the following article types:
-
-
- Research Papers: Articles of unrestricted length that report new research of outstanding quality and that make a significant advance in terms of the fundamental science or application of optics.
- Letters: Outstanding concise articles (strict length limit ≤ 3500 words), reporting important, new and timely developments. These articles should be deserving of priority review. Authors will also need to provide a letter of justification outlining reasons why the work is urgent and requires rapid publication.
- Topical Reviews: Written by leading researchers in their fields, these articles present the background to and overview of a particular field, and the current state of the art. Topical review articles are normally invited by the editors.
- PhD Tutorials: Background knowledge for an audience unfamiliar with the subject. Aimed at young researchers or more experienced researchers moving into a new field, tutorials give an introduction to the topic and are more didactic than a review article.

Special requirements
TCC’ statement regarding the inclusion of potentially offensive or inappropriate imagery in submitted papers:
We ask authors to carefully consider both the subject matter and provenance of images included in their work before submitting to the journal. If the submitted images could be potentially offensive to the journal’s readership or violate copyright, TCC reserves the right to request that authors seek alternative images or other means to express the same results before the final version is published.
Peer review
TCC operates a open peer review process, in which the reviewers can be proposed by the authors but in any case they will be supported by reviewers of our network whose identity cannot be known by the authors.
Our Publishing Support page provides more information on our reviewing process.
If an article is not accepted for publication in TCC, we may offer the author the opportunity to transfer their submission to other suitable journals we publish.
Inclusivity and diversity
TCC Publishing recognises that there are inequalities within the scientific publishing and research ecosystems. We are committed to a progressive approach to inclusivity and diversity, and are working hard to eliminate discrimination to foster an equitable and welcoming publishing environment for all.
Ethics
TCC maintains the highest standards of publication and research ethics and is a member of the Committee for Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are expected to comply with TCC Publishing’s Ethical policy.
Research data
This journal has adopted TCC Publishing’s standard data policy. Please check that your article complies with the policy before submission.
Questions about the policy should be sent to info(at)tech-cc.eu
Many research funders now require authors to make all data related to their research available in an online repository. Please refer to the policy for further information about research data, data repositories and data citation.
Open access
TCC is a open access journal free of charge for researchers. Contrary to what happens in most magazines, if the published article has good popularity and many citations, our Board could decide to monetize it through the affiliated distribution channels. A specific contract with the author will be signed.
Copyright and permissions
We work with our authors to make sure that they understand their rights and responsibilities when they publish in TCC. Information about copyright, permissions and our copyright form can be found on our Copyright page.
Abstracting and indexing services
We work with our authors to help make their work as easy to discover as possible. TCC is included in many abstracting and discovery services in Europe and around the world.
